Spell it out to me so that I can UNDERSTAND!

You may have had the same credit card for years, or you're looking to get your first one. Either way you want to maximize the rewards you earn under the card program. Every program has its own reward scheme, and there are hundreds of them. PointsCompare.com is a tool to compare credit cards and list them according to the estimated reward to you.

You will input some information about your weekly/monthly/annual spending within relevant categories. We do some math and show you how many points you might earn among available credit cards.

Okay, but I need more details.

Let's say CardA offers to give me…
5% Back on XYZ.com purchases
2% Back at gas stations
2% Back at restaurants
2% Back at drugstores
1% Back on all other purchases
This seems pretty great, but then CardB turns around and offers to give me…
3% Back at gas stations
3% Back at restaurants
1% Back at drugstores
1% Back on all other purchases
CardB doesn’t give 5% back at the card issuer’s XYZ.com website, but you do get more points back at gas stations and restaurants. How do you know which one is better for you? Well, it depends on your spending habits. You’ll need to estimate your spending, and we’ll do the rest of it.
I don’t want to tell you my spending habits!
That is completely reasonable. But it does make it harder for us to help you. We promise that we don’t keep the information you enter. However if you later go get a new credit card to maximize your “% back rewards” and we get a commision we will all benefit.
In real life there aren't two cards to choose from. There are hundreds!
Let us help you.
