What does PointsCompare.com compare?
Points, and only points. Credit card points programs that is. Not balance transfer fees. Not special one-time offers. Not annual fees. Not interest rates.
Where applicable we list special perks of the card that stand out from the crowd. Sometimes these perks make a big difference.
What if I don't see the credit card I want to compare?
We want to offer as many comparisons as we can, but we don't have them all yet. We're working on an option to add your own cards for comparison.
How do you convert points to dollars?
Typically rewards programs give $1 of value for every 100 points. That’s a good rule of thumb anyway. Sometimes they will have special sales, promotions, etc where that’s different. We cannot cover every special case, but we do our best.
How do you estimate my rewards?
This is where we deliver the most value to you. It’s also where you need to do the most homework. There are a couple ways you can do this. One is to take a monthly statement of a card you already use. It will probably have the spending split into categories. Plug those into the comparison tool and compare how many points are on your statement with how many you could have earned with another card. Another method is to do the same thing for an entire year instead of only a month. This will provide a better estimate, but provides a better comparison.
Do I need an account to use PointsCompare.com?
